Using Next To Me after 9kg??

Hi

My 10 week old is currently in his Shnuggle Bedside crib. However bubs is a big baby! 91st Centile and currently 14lb 9! It says online the weight limit for the crib is 9kg!!! As are most next to me cribs. Has anyone used it over this limit?? I’m a little worried about converting it to the cot as there is no height changer for the mattress! So he would be on the lowest setting. Is it safe to do that? He’s currently putting 1lb a week on so we’ve only got about 4-5 weeks till he’s at the 9kg limit! Confused

Any advice greatfully appreciated! 😩

Don’t panic just yet, you might find baby’s weight gain slows down, my DS was putting on a pound a week at that stage and then slowed down. I’m not sure about using over the weight limit, I think the most important thing is that he can’t sit up, then it’s not safe to be in the next to me. But like I say, if his weight slows down it might be 2 months or more before he hits 9kg and he might be too long for it by then anyway if he’s a big baby! It’s safe for him to be in the cot on the lowest setting it’s just a pain if you have to lean in to comfort it’s easier when they’re higher up! Xx

You can change to a sidecar cot. Normal full-size cot, just take one side off (easily done with Allen key) and butt it up to your bed.

(I had a similar 91st centile chunk. She went in a full sized sidecar cot from birth).

My 3 year old plays in my baby's Tutti Bambino (like a next to me). It's nowhere close to collapsing and she is no waif! The weight limit will be stupendously over cautious and will be more about older babies sitting up and toppling out etc

Any advice gratefully accepted. DS is 12 months (next week) and will not for love nor money for the last 3-4 weeks sleep in his own cot. He will fall asleep next to me no problem, but will wake around 4am and scream. I am physically and mentally exhausted. He screams constantly as of late. I physically cannot leave the room or move an inch because he screams. I love him with my whole heart but he is sucking the life out of me with the constant crying. Can someone please offer any advice because I feel like I really 💩 mum 😭
