Hello!

My LO has started thinking his day starts at 445 to 515 now.

He alwayys did 7pm to 630am with naps of 9am for 1. 5 hr, 130pm for 1.5hr and thrn about 6 30 to 7pm for bed. He is able to self soothe too. All of a sudden and it wasnt even gradual he woke at 445am wanting to get up, bright eye and smiling. Tried to resettle for an hour but didnt work. This has now happened for the last week... What has gone wrong!? Boo. He is 8 months.

Is there any advice or suggestions?

Thank you!

He will need a later bedtime to shift his whole routine forward by an hour ir two. Don't stress, this won't necessarily be a long term thing, routine will change many times.

I'd suggest at least 3 weeks aiming for an 8.30pm bedtime. So 8pm start to be asleep by 8.30pm.

You then need to work out how to best achieve that. You'll need to play round with daytime naps to get there. You could do earlier naps and then add in a short teatime nap on days when waking early. Or you could push both naps later (If you think he will manage) so that the 2nd nap finishes later and less of a stretch to bedtime.

There will be a period of transition. In the first few weeks you may have days with later nights and also early mornings. But be consistent and you will get there.
