When did your child stop napping altogether?

When did they stop completely? My DS is 2 years 3 months old. It’s 9pm and he is currently still chattering away to himself wide awake in his cot. He just isn’t tired. He naps 1pm-2:30pm at the moment and goes to sleep for the nap fairly quickly and it takes me ages to wake him because he’s in such a deep sleep, so I thought he still needed the nap but even if I cut it down to just 1 hour long he still isn’t tired at night until about 9pm! Our evenings are spent going upstairs to him and back again. He does have the occasional day without a nap if we’re out somewhere and goes to sleep at bedtime at 7pm really easily but is very cranky by 5pm. Do I cut it out completely? When did your LO stop napping? I’m worried it’s too soon yet!

I would try and bring the nap forward to 12.30 and then wake up at 1.30 at the latest.

My son is 2.4 and naps 12.15-1.30 ish then goes to bed about 7.15.

My eldest napped until he was 4.3!

Around about 2 years and 8 months here. Before that she was slamming out a 2.5 hour nap and still going to bed for 7pm but once it started affecting how early she’d fall asleep at night I stopped the nap. She goes to bed around 6.30pm now - she gets very tired by the afternoon, but if she naps (even a short one) she doesn’t fall asleep until 9pm!

My eldest stopped at 15 months. My second around 2.
