2 month old sleep

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone had ideas about what's going on with my 2 month old and if I can help him by doing things differently?
Basically he does a good stint of 4 or 5 hours at the start of the night (usually 8 till 12 or 1am) but after that he is up every 45 minutes until the morning. He naps a lot during the day... I've always been told at this age to just let him nap when he wants so I'm not quite sure what to do about the second half of the night.
He is formula fed and does have a dummy.
Just to be clear I'm not worried about his sleep, I just wondered if anyone had experienced this before and had any advice!
Thank you x

No advice just solidarity, my baby started doing this around this age and sorry to say it lasted quite a while for us. I read that their sleep drive is stronger in the first half of the night hence the better stretch of sleep then, and in the early hours the sleep hormone melatonin reduces and cortisol starts to be produced ready for waking up... so basically a much lighter sleep that they can wake from easily at the end of each sleep cycle. I’ve no idea if that’s scientifically accurate but just what I read (sure someone more knowledgable will be along to correct me if not). But just wanted to reassure you it sounds normal and you’re not alone! We’ve been starting to get some better nights lately approaching 5 months... I hope it doesn’t take as long for you. Do you have blackout blinds? I think they’ve helped us a little x

@emmainparis ah thank you for your reply! And very glad to hear it's starting to right itself for you now 😊
Luckily I've trained myself to go to sleep at 8pm so I'm getting some sleep at least 😂

That’s how I’ve been coping too. It is tough, I feel for you. Hang in there! I did find it gradually became easier to get her (and me) back to sleep in between wake ups even before they started to reduce. A sidecar crib helped so I didn’t have to move to settle her or feed her x

Does a night feed settle him got longer than 45 minutes?

What do you do to get him back to sleep on these night wakes?
