9wk Naps is this normal?

Hi my DD needs contact naps which I'm fine with... would like to try moving into moses basket during the day eventually but it's a long way off.

I'm finding I have to hold her and nurse her through the first 10-15min as she's disturbed by her poor tummy which makes her cry and then wake up from being settled. Most of the time I can rock her through the pain until she is back asleep.. Is this normal or has she got a stomach problem that needs investigating? It's happening every nap time.

This sounds like you need to wind her. Instead if rocking her in your arms, lean her against your shoulder so she is upright and rub her back. You can sway if needed.

@FATEdestiny thanks. I do wind her but lately have been wondering if I've been doing it badly and not for long enough. I've also posted about a possible CMPA or intolerance to.... As I'm getting the attached pic for nappies. (she's combi fed, can't EBF)

Poo doesn't look good though I've only had end babies. It's quite mucussy. Has she recently had her rotovirus vaccination? - all 3 of mine had mucussy poo for a couple of weeks after.

Look up "tiger in the tree" for winding and hold against your shoulder too (with a muslin to catch puke).

I'm pretty certain my Ds2 was lactose intolerant - weird poo was a symptom - so if you're concerned about dairy try cutting it from your diet and switch formula. You should see a difference by the end of the week

@User0ne thanks for the reply. Yes she had that vaccine at 8 weeks.
However her poo has always been that liquid, it's never been paste like. This one was caught fresh as I was doing her a new nappy yesterday so hasn't been spread about... What do you think, normal or not?

If you're concerned speak to your HV or GP, they're best placed to help you with this. There's no harm in checking.

@NuffSaidSam thank you and have done. GP appt on Monday.
Just wanted to do my own research first and hoped people would say not to worry its normal I guess x

It's probably nothing to worry about, but maybe she needs to switch formula/you need to cut dairy. There's probably an easy fix.
