Is anyone else playing the rolling game?

My DD 8months has been able to roll for months. Mainly back to front, not front to back. But hates doing it, and has always hated tummy time.

We have a number of sleep issues, and she has been quite poorly in the last week with a number of infections and two hospital admissions.

But for the last 6weeks she is playing this tiresome game, where she will roll on to her front, get stuck, and not be able to roll back. She has reflux. So then starts being sick. This starts with being put down, and then with some night wakings. It’s become a game.

I think some of the rolls are unintentional. As she is a side sleeper, and then seems to roll in her sleep, and is furious that she is woke up.

How long does this last?

Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Is there anyone in the same boat?

A tightly tucked in sheet may help her be still. Likewise your hand firmly on her chest as she goes to sleep gives reassurance and also helps her be still.

She needs as much tummy time as possible to practice, then this phase will pass.

@FATEdestiny thank you, as always your advice is greatly appreciated.
Will try a sheet, once she has recovered and doesn’t have a temperature. Just can’t add any layers at the minute.
We do practice in the day, and she can roll front to back, but just not very well or very often. And she hates it. Soon as she’s on her tummy, the tears start.

We ended up with DS doing this, similar age (7 months?). The only solution in our case was to put him to sleep strapped in to his pushchair, fully reclined. (It was many years ago, a McClaren Techno XT that had a 5 point harness, but could also go fully flat). We ended up having to do this for about a fortnight?
