FTM and 12 month sleep regression

Hi,

I am a first time mum and my baby has just turned 13 months old but has been in a sleep regression for nearly 2 weeks now. I haven’t noticed my DD going through any other regressions but this one is definitely noticeable! I’m just a bit confused on the ‘right’ thing to do.

My DD would normally wake up between 7/8am and would normally have her nap between 11:30/12:30 for about 2 hours. Recently she’s been pure fighting any naps up until 3pm where she will then give in and nap. I’m guilty of letting her nap until she’s done (because she’s horrendous when tired) so she will wake about 5pm and then not go to sleep on the evening until about 11pm where she will then wake the following morning at around 8:30/9am.

I know not every baby are the same so it’s trial and error I guess but I’m just wondering what people would do if in my boat? Do I let her carry on what she’s doing but make her 3pm nap a short one? Do I try and keep her awake until her bedtime? 🙈

Thank you

How are you getting her to sleep for the nap?

I wonder if this is because she isn't self settling easily.

At 13 months I would be doing two naps a day. Waking her (by alarm if needed) at the same time every day, say 7am. Then nap at 9am for 45 mins (Waking her). Then nap at 1pm leaving her as long as she needs. Bed at 7-8pm.
