I'm 28 weeis pregnant with number 2.
Daughter will be 2.9 months old. She currently goes to bed at 6.30pm - 7.00pm and I'm wondering how to incorporate babies bedtime. Would it be better do bath baby and put to bed and then do toddlers routine? What do others do? T. I. A

For the first 6 months baby stays with your downstairs until you go to bed yourself.

I don't mean alone in her own room. I mean her "bed time" I wouldn't leave my newborn alone.

Hi @Lottiebugz22, I found it much easier to get toddler in bed first and then deal with baby. In the first few weeks baby could have quite happily spent hours at a time feeding, so if that started before toddler was in bed it was a nightmare.

It always helped when my husband was around at bedtime as he could put toddler in bed while I was seeing to the baby if I needed to, but toddler wasn't always happy about this as bedtime is usually my thing. He soon got used to it though, and if there was a night that I knew I wouldn't be putting him to bed I made sure I spent some extra time with him earlier on to try and make sure he didn't feel too pushed out by the baby.

Wasn't always that simple if I was doing bedtime on my own, because I forgot how upside down life is with a newborn, but when it worked, it worked!

Initially I just carried on with ds1s routine and did whatever I need to with DS2 around that

Mainly meant doing bath for the eldest first and then the youngest as it was easier.

Eventually their routines merged into one and it’s done all at the same time now.
