8 month old babys sleep is all over the place

She will be 8 months in a week and she is just so all over the place.
I put her to bed around 7.30-8pm as that's when the wheels start coming off and she wont stay up later. She naps twice a day. Well I try to get her to nap twice a day. She will if we are at home and she is in her bed, shes very against getting a nap in the pram or in the car, shes ok until we stop moving even for a second.
She wakes up 1-3 times and is wide awake at 5am. She is still in the same room as us as she will be sharing with her sister and I want her to settle before her disturbing her sisters sleep. I'm thinking it might be teething? But I see no teeth. It's now an hour and a bit later and shes falling asleep in my arms, now she wong nap later on🤦‍♀️
I know I shouldn't feed her, she is BF, but If i feed her she will go straight back to sleep. And I dont want her crying to wake her her sister. Shes got me wrapped around her finger!! Haha. Do I just need to let her cry it out? I was told babies dont need a night feed after 6 months, she slept through as a newborn then went through a 6 month sleep regression and hasn't really come out! Any advice would be fab x

Can you share you nap schedule?

If her day is starting at 5am, I think that bed time might be a touch late. Have you tried getting her down for 7? I.e before the wheels start to come off!

If I'm honest her naps vairy, normally I try and get her down for 9 and about 3. Some times she naps beautifully for a good couple hours, recently about and hour. And she wakes up crying which makes me think teething...

Ok, I'll try putting her to be earlier tonight. I worry if I put her to bed earlier she will just sit in her bed and cry ages, that has happened before...

I think her naps are too late (both of them) so she’s too tired before them but then not tired enough for an early bedtime perhaps? My 9 month old goes 2.5-3.5 hrs before her first nap, depending on when she wakes, and always a little over 4 hours before bed. She normally wakes once or twice in the night if the day has been fairly good.

How do you get her to sleep @Imcrc?

Imcrc · 20/06/2021 21:49

@FATEdestiny I BF her, I put her in her bed when shes drowsy, sometimes asleep. And cries maybe for about 5 minutes nearly every time unless she is really tired.

You may need to move feeding away from sleeping entirely. At the moment feeding is needed for comfort. Instead find another way to comfort her to sleep. Patting maybe? Or rocking even, if you want to be more hands on
