5mo old won't lie down for naps - should i worry about her back?

DD will only nap in sling or car seat, or on a cushion on my lap. At night we co-sleep and she often ends up on her side because she's turned to have a feed. I've read some stuff about it being important that babies get plenty of time flat on their backs - so should I be worried and any tips to get her to do this?

I really dont think there is any reason for a baby to spend time flat on their backs??? Other than the advice being it is the safest place to sleep. I really WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT IT. My DDs sleep on their fronts from day 1 and are fine. It sounds like you are a great mum. Try not to worry if you possibly can. I slept on my front as a baby/child and am fine!

thanks nowwearefour. it was more a spine thing than a front back thing as either in carseat or sling - but i'm sure you're right - will not worry!
