Are they waking to feed?

yoyo1234 · 30/05/2021 02:37

Yes. They whine during the day as well

Have you started weaning? What about trying giving them baby porridge etc before bed rather than the traditional way of doing it which is starting with a lunch time

Do you think Theybare waking because they are hungry?

Are they in their own room?

andivfmakes3 · 30/05/2021 02:42

Also it won't be nursery's problem when you go back to work as you'll still need to deal either the night waking

yoyo1234 · 30/05/2021 02:42

No decent regular nap during the day. DH working away 13hrs ish a day. Baby just whines. Not my first and so different to eldest DC.

They are being weaned. Eat well 4x meals a day.

Eldest was not great sleeper but had a regular (sanity restoring nap).

What do they do if you just leave them to self settle at night?

yoyo1234 · 30/05/2021 02:47

Not in own room

yoyo1234 · 30/05/2021 02:48

I do not leave to self settle as would wake family.

Is the baby in pain from reflux or CMPA or something else? My first never slept and woke constantly turns out he had CMPA and constant stomach pain, his sleep improved when he didn’t have dairy anymore.

andivfmakes3 · 30/05/2021 03:16

So are they waking for food or cuddles? What about co sleeping- my DD didn't sleep unless she was with me - I didn't want to co sleep but had no choice in the end

yoyo1234 · 30/05/2021 04:33

Reflux has been a real issue but has settled down a bit (cot is tilted). I feed nearly every time .

@16andivfmakes3

I was thinking of co sleep. I have a huge playpen that could fit single mattress and cot mattress is this the sort of set up needed ?

Also thinking of going for reflux medication the GP and Health visitor were saying about constipation risk and pain and effectively put me and DH off. I think the whining is discomfort and think it will help .

The GP can prescribe carobel for reflux which just thickens the milk and it does work.
