9 month old waking

Just after some advice please. My 9 month old has always been a pretty good sleeper. I can put him in his cot for naps and bedtime wide awake and he'll happily go to sleep. He naps really well. He has always woke for feeds (bf) but usually just once or twice a night. The last week we have been on holiday and he woke every 2 hours every night and would only settle with a feed. How can I break this habbit? Just refuse feeding him? I was happy to just feed once or twice a night but I can't do every 2 hours. I know he's not actually hunger and it's more comfort..

Anyone had the same and how did you break it!? Because he settles himself to sleep I know he can self soothe.. Thanks!

Yes, basically you just refuse to feed.

Have a different method to comfort him, rather than him just having no comfort, but don't feed when you know its comfort he needs (not calories). Give the comfort in a different way.
