Do you rock your baby?

Does anyone rock their baby or feed to sleep and they sleep through the night? My 7 month old is still waking between 5 and 7 times a night... I currently rock her or feed her to sleep so not sure if it is that that is doing it!+

Wake in the night and feed back to sleep yes but 5-7 times in a night is insane. Are they in their own room yet?

In their own room too :( i have a toddler to look after too, slowly going insane!!

So we’re still in a regression at the moment so waking every 2-3hrs which is hell and accounts for 3-4 wake ups (I have a 3yr old so I sympathise). A good night used to be1-2 wake ups. It’s clearly for comfort at this point with us so I’m considering night weaning with offering water

I used to hold my baby and rock or walk around the room. I wish o never got into that routine because I think it made it worse long term and was difficult to change going forwards.

I ended up doing shush and pat method.
I'm sure my boy woke A lot in the night too.

Yes we got into the “rock to sleep” habit and ended up doing it multiple times a night like you, as dd was not able to link sleep cycles by herself without rocking.

We eventually did controlled crying so DD learned to go to sleep by herself and link sleep cycles. Took one day and one bedtime of CC and she slept through that night. Was amazing. It did involve a fair bit of crying for that one day though, so some people would be against it... I can’t say she slept through for ever after, she didn’t due to teething colds etc but it never went back to 5-7 times a night levels.

I'vr tried it but it seems to a) wind my DD up (too much stimulation maybe) or she'll fix her gaze on to something and get distracted by it moving as I rock her (so the room needs to be pitch black and then I can barely see what I'm doing and b) gives me terrible backache and spasms the next day.
