Anyone had a night like this?

DD has been sleeping particularly badly for the last couple of weeks and even worse for the last few days but today is next level. Since first falling asleep around 6.30 she has I think done no stretch longer than 35 mins, some quite a bit less, sometimes waking up upset as soon as we put her down. She seems really upset when she wakes up so we guessed maybe teething pain but Calpol has not made a difference. Sleeping fine on me right now with boob in her mouth but i know once I put her down she'll be crying again in 20 mins.

On really bad nights when she was younger we would co-sleep as a measure of last resort but she's now a very enthusiastic roller and we don't have any kind of bed-guard so it doesn't feel safe.

I'm really hoping we wake up to a tooth in the morning to make this all feel worthwhile, but in the meantime, would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has been here and survived the night!!!! I mean, she's a crap sleeper at the best of times but this feels like a whole other thing.

How old is she OP and does she always feed to sleep? It sounds like she may be overtired and the crying is because she wants to be asleep but can’t without bf. I would also have guessed virus but if calpol hasn’t helped then maybe not.

Yeah I have had nights like that. Mine are now 8 and 6 but I remember it, it’s soul destroying. At some point in the night she will do a stretch but sod’s law says it will be when you’ve given up on trying to sleep yourself!

Good luck

@minipie she's seven months and she does feed to sleep which is definitely a problem but I don't think it explains by itself why tonight is so much worse than usual. We'd actually decided to start tomorrow with an approach to try and get her out of the habit but with sleep suddenly way worse than normal I'm wondering whether it might be better to wait until things calm down slightly before attempting anything.
