6 month old waking before 6am

He wakes up around 5:45am. He has a feed at 7pm which normally sends him to sleep and then he gets moved to his crib (not the ideal of him falling asleep in the crib on his own I know). I do a dream feed at 10pm and then he sleeps until around 5:45am. From 7pm until 5:45am he'll wake approximately 5 times and just needs his dummy putting in. He gets between 2-3 hours worth of naps for the most part. Is there any way to get him to wake up later? Should he be going to sleep earlier/later? He misses his last nap sometimes due to us being out, will that affect his night sleep? Do some babies just wake this time?

Forgot to say he's not waking for a feed as I don't feed him until 7am. He is normally just wanting to play about but today he did fall asleep in my bed when I brought him in

Totally normal I would say.
My LO used to wake up at 5am until about the age of 2

Totally normal op!
My LO went through a stage of early rising, if their happy pottering in cot it’s fine! Could be down to development.
It doesn’t last forever but very tiring!

I'm horrified to read these replies! I had an expectation of 7pm to 7am in my head. Oh what a dream

It is normal I'm afraid. My first DD would be awake for the day between 5-6am! I just went with it and in time she started sleeping a bit later but even now at 3 years old she's usually awake between 6-7am. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear 😬

It actually sounds like you have it really good in terms of sleep compared to many parents of 6 month olds.

Mine still wakes up once in the night maybe 2-3 times a week and is up before 6 most days and he's 16 months. This seems pretty normal compared to similar aged peers.

In my experience 7-7 every night is a dream very few children actually achieve until they are much older.

Yep, it’s normal. My DS aged 10 months wakes at 5.45 ish. If he gets past 6am we call it a lie in.
