Hi all

My dd is 24 weeks. She is bf and has 3 30 min naps a day. We have recently introduced homemade purées to her which is going great but she is still feeding 10/11 times in 24 hours it seems she’s constantly hungry!
She is also getting so upset at bedtime being left alone and when she wakes up... she can’t self soothe so comfort on boob is usually only way and I’m at my wits end.

Any ideas!? Everyone says she’s a dream baby but she also needs constant milk and rocking to sleep in cot for hours at night. Wake windows are great so unsure where I’m going wrong?

We kept ours downstairs with us until we went to bed when they were still in our room. They'd nap and feed in front of the TV with us and then when we were ready for bed, took them upstairs gave them a big feed and settled in the cot.

How many times are they waking in the night once settled?

@Firsttimemummybear

The hour = feeding, rocking, patting, ssh-ing.

She’s 16lbs so getting enough milk I’m not worried about that. Just wondered if any tips

That's a lot of different settling methods.

You could do with choosing one settling method and sticking to that very consistantly (for every nap, bedtime and wake up).

I suspect you have not resolved the 4 month sleep regression (which needs to develop a long term settling method so baby can self settle between sleep cycles) and this is to do with that, not calories.

I would stop feeding and rocking to sleep.

I wouldn't be surprised if she's overtired, which is why is takes so long to get to sleep at night (and only naps for 30 mins). Number of feeds sounds fine - mine is 8 months and has only recently lengthened out the time between feeds - was previously every 2 hours more or less like clockwork.

That's what I did. It seemed to work well enough.
