Silent reflux- breastfeeding

Has anybody tried to eliminate certain foods from their diet that has helped their baby's reflux?

I understand anecdotally that cutting out citrus fruits and raw tomatoes might be a good thing, but I'd be interested to know if anybody has had any successes on this subject. It's horrible to watch them suffering 😩

I did but then found out it had been tongue tie causing the problems all along.

If you do think it's something in your diet, I'd have a read of My Baby is Gassy. Is this caused by something in my diet? on Kellymom.

My daughter had bad reflux I had to stop breastfeeding her and give her special milk. You have to talk with your doctor to know better solution.

Have you tried any medications for the silent reflux. The only thing we found helped was lansoprazole.

Ultimately ours was linked to my son's CMPA so I ended up having to go dairy free whilst breastfeeding and eventually we managed to wean him off the medication.

@BunnyRuddington thanks for that link, seems like maybe not!

@PollyRoe16 thanks Polly, we've been prescribed omeprazole, so hoping to start that in the next few days. It's very upsetting seeing him so uncomfortable, I hate the thought that he will associate food with pain 😬

@PollyRoe16 I hope your little one is ok now and that you can enjoy dairy again!

@Ninibest he has a nurse who has prescribed a solution for him, my question was about my diet really, rather than his medication. I hope your child is ok now.

@NotMaryWhitehouse he still has his allergy at 18 months old but luckily there are a lot of alternatives he can have and he loves oat milk! Still hoping he does grow out of it eventually though. Hope the omeprazole helps ☺️

Omeprazole made a big difference to my breastfed baby’s reflux. He is still sick a lot, but he doesn’t seem to be in pain any more and it doesn’t cause him distress.
