1 year old waking at 5am

My 13 month old has been consistently waking at 5am for weeks now. He tends to nap 9-10 and 1:30-2:30 then is in bed by 6:30. Yesterday he refused his afternoon nap so was awake from 10-6:30 and he still woke at 5 this morning. I know he goes to bed early but he's very tired by then and keeping him up doesn't help. Due to the school run he can't nap from 8:15-8:45 or 2:45-3:10 (we have a drive, walk, drive). I've also tried putting him down after the school run but he refuses to nap at this point but maybe I just need to persevere. I think he might to be ready to drop to one nap but I can't see how I can stop him falling asleep if we are out in the mornings?!

Any advice would be gratefully received Brew

It sounds like it's probably time to go down to one nap. My little girl did around 12 month. Her morning nap started to get later and now she naps after lunch x

If you're in the UK, wait for the clocks to change next weekend and that will automatically shift everything by an hour (to become 1930-6, 10-11 & 1430-1530). Make sure you've got decent blackout curtains to avoid it creeping earlier again when the mornings get lighter.

Then keep the new bedtime and wake up but experiment with adjusting naps.
