Thrashing about in bed!

My little girl is nearly 7 months old and has always been a dream at night time. She usually goes down around 7:30 and sleeps until 6ish with very few interruptions during the night. However just recently she has started thrashing about in bed, she's lifting her legs up as high as she can (whilst still asleep) and thrashing them onto her bed as hard as she can. It's bizarre. At first I thought it was trapped wind that was really bugging her but she tries her hardest to stay asleep, she keeps her eyes closed, and I feel if it was trapped wind or something painful she would eventually cry but she doesn't?? It's almost like she's getting annoyed with herself for doing it. She's still in a next to me crib so I'm very aware that she's doing it. It goes on for that long some nights that she gives in and opens her eyes. She's sometimes a bit upset initially because I really believe she doesn't want to wake up but she's very quickly smiley so also another reason I don't think she's in any pain. Anyone else had similar experience, I'm really lost with it. I'm also starting to get really tired and so is she. I feel really sorry for her? Hope this makes sense

My 6 month old DD does this, usually about two hours after she's gone to bed then again at about 4am..head thrashing from side to side and lifting up her legs and just letting them drop onto the cot mattress but she's fully asleep. No idea what causes it but you are not alone!

Can I ask is your daughter still in your room? I'm going to put mine in her own room soon but I just wanted to sort this out first. She does toss her head from side to side like she's trying to get comfy once the leg thrashing starts. I put her down for her naps during the day in her bed and she's fine. It only happens through the night

She's in her cot in her room usually ends up in bed with us but that's another story she drums her legs during the day as well but for fun, I think she likes the hollow thud on the mattress!

My dd is 11 and still does this. She does it as she is falling into a deep sleep. She is unaware that she does it. As soon as it stops you know she is fully asleep.

She really bangs her legs on the bed, no one ever wants to share a room with her!!
