17 month old suddenly not napping

Hi Smile
My 17 month old started coming down with a cold a couple of days ago, we didn't know at the time but he just was not sleeping that night and was whinging and not settling, later that day came out in a cold.
Since then he's been better at night but is refusing to nap, the last month or so he's been a dream to put down so it's frustrating! Normal routine would be put him in his sleeping bag, shut curtains and put his Ewan on and his star light and he would just turn onto his tummy and lie there until he fell asleep, and naps would be 1.5/2 hours long.
Since his cold he cries as soon as I lean over to put him in the cot, he's fine but just cries when I leave...even getting him to nap with me is tricky and I've resorted to going on drives yesterday and today so he doesn't get over tired!

Has anyone been through this? I've read it could be the 18 month sleep regression but I just wondered if anyone had any advice!

Thank you Smile

His cold may be a coincidence. Both my DC stopped napping around this age. I used to put them to bed earlier in the evening, 6pm or just a little earlier if needs be. They still woke up at the same time.
