Toddler and 10 month old sharing room - now baby won’t sleep anymore!

Hi,

For the last 4 months my 3 yo dd and 10 month old dd have shared a room. All fine and dandy except for the last two weeks 10 month old dd wakes up around 12am and refuses to go back to sleep. Wide awake! This then wakes up my toddler and I have to bring dd2 to my bed to sleep in her next to me which she is getting too small for.

I can’t keep doing this but I don’t know what my next options are? If I bring her cot to my room, it will feel like I have just given up and considering the room sharing was going ok, I’d like to keep trying!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe you need to tweak your babies schedule - are they getting enough awake time across the day? Are they napping well?

My DD dropped to one nap at 10m which is early but what she needed. If she doesn’t have enough awake time in the day she wakes up for hours overnight. Any chance your DD needs longer awake in the day?

She only has short naps (30 mins at most). We live in a bungalow so toddler often wakes baby up when it is her nap time.

She did get better for a week and was sleeping right through but now her second tooth is coming through, I’m thinking it disrupts her sleep. Thanks for your comments guys.
