Sleep 6 week old

Hi everyone

Would love some advice. My 6 week old baby since birth has slept well through the night in 3-5 hour stretches. We often had to wake her for a feed. The last ten days she is much more tired in the day and taking longer naps especially in the evenings with the result that she now barely sleeps at all overnight. Would people recommend keeping her awake in the evenings? Or cutting naps short? Or should I just let her sleep to her own schedule? She’s generally very placid and happy and I know she’s still so young so I’m not sure if keeping her awake is a bit unfair on her.

I would never stop a baby so young from sleeping whenever they need it, even if that's during the day. All you can do is wait until they figure out night and day, and even then don't have too high expectations. You have a good sleeper!

Just carefully tweak the nap times so if you know she will want to sleep at 10 am in the morning get her to sleep 10 mins early. Move all naps 10 mins forward that day . 10mins forwards the next day and so on until she’s awake a bit more in the evening and asleep a bit more at night.
