Own bedroom

Hi I’m looking for some advice here: my baby is 3 months old currently sleeps in cot in my room however I’m wondering if I could put him in his own room as after a shower at night and me just going to bed I’m general him wakes him up. I must add I do have the angel baby monitor with bed sensors and the breathing and movement monitor it beeps when no movement or breathing is detected. Nice responses only I don’t need you to agree but to disagree in a polite manner would be appreciated 😁😁

Hi, I put my now 6 year old son in his own room at 4 months and it was the best thing we ever did. Just had an audio monitor, no bells or whistles and he was fine. I now had a 5 month old and I wish we could put him in him own room but unfortunately for us we only have a 2 bed and he will eventually be sharing with his big brother. I don’t want to move him in there until he’s a little older but having him in our room isn’t ideal, I wish we had a bigger house!! I say go for it!

I planned to put my baby in their own room at 6 months and resulted in being in their own room at 5 months as I was disturbing them going to bed etc. My baby was prem so you could say equivalent to 4 months old. Do what works for you and your baby there is no right and wrong aslong as it is safe. and it sounds like you have your safety measures in place. If your not comfortable with it see how you feel in a few weeks time.

I couldn’t do it it felt weird and I didn’t like it he was only in there 2 hours and brought him back in with me 🙄😂

Just be aware that the protection that sleeping in a room is meant to give babies under 6 months is that hearing an adult breathe subconsciously reminds the baby to breathe. No monitor in the world can recreate that.

Baby sleep isn’t the same as adult sleep. They aren’t meant to sleep deeply and are meant to wake frequently.

From about 5 weeks I put my youngest to bed in his own room, then when I went to bed I would feed him and bring him through to our room. Once he dropped the late feed he stayed in his room all night.

Nope I’m a single mum jsit me and baby and he’s very active and awake in the day but I’m keeping in him with me for now anyway

Keeping in him with for now anyway I didn’t realise it would affect me thinking of him in a room on his own I can’t do it probably still be sleeping with me at 12 😂😂
