Has anyone ever used the Ferber method to sleep train their little one?
Any tips or advice, or even success stories?

Following as I’m interested in the replies.

SIL tried for 5 seconds then realised how awful it was hearing her baby cry and stopped, basically the same as us though I didn't know it was the Ferber method.

Might be more "successful" if you have a more... chilled baby. Some babies find things more stressful than others, hence some "self settling" basically from day one and others not so much.

We did it with DS at around 1 and he went from
being a terrible sleeper to sleeping 7.30-5.30. It took two bad nights and then he was fine. And he is much more content in the daytime now that he actually gets a good amount of sleep. I’m currently 35 weeks with DD and will probably start around 6 months with her and see how it goes.

We did, at seven months. Took two nights. DD’s sleep was bombproof after that, including through overnight hospital stays in brightly lit wards etc.

I did pick up, put down with DD1, but am seriously considering Ferber with DD2 - she has a more chilled personality, which is giving me courage. Has anyone done one of each? How did it compare?
