Hello,

I need some advice on what I should buy my newborn to sleep in. Which is best, swaddling or sleeping bags? Also what products do you suggest?

I'm currently 21 weeks and I feel so overwhelmed with the amount of different products that you can buy just for sleeping!

Thank you in advance!!😊

My baby slept really well swaddled (the fun and games began when we had to stop swaddling him!). However, not all babies do.

We used things called Gro Snuggles which are like sleeping bags in newborn size, but with poppers at the arms so you can choose to have arms in or out. Could be a good option to try and work out if swaddling helps your baby because you can use them either way.

Love to dream swaddle up bags are great, especially for babies who like having their arms up by their face but are prone to startling themselves awake if they aren't swaddled.

I got a grobag for my newest and she loved it in the newborn days. I also swaddled her for naps during the day (which she did copiously).

Sleeping bags from about 3 months on. DD loves hers. I only put it on her at night time so its another cue for her thats its night time now, time to sleep longer.

We regulate our temperature through our feet so later on, you might want to look at sleeping bags with feet holes so they can regulate their temperature a bit easier.

I made some woolly blankets which were great for swaddling overnight as they had a bit of stretch in them. (Too much time on my hands before ds born). They then moved on to sleeping bags when they started fighting the swaddle. They all stayed in those 'til they were 2.5-3 years. Was grateful of the quick access and self-containment when sick ups / poosplosions happened.
