Dressing 2 year old for bed

So far my 2 yo sleeps in a cot (I’m in no rush to change this just yet) and he wears a vest, pjs, onesie type thing and he has a couple of light blankets which get thrown off shortly after he goes to bed. I have a duvet ready for him. I’m just wondering if I could get away with putting the duvet on him instead of the blankets as the weather is getting much colder now. What have others done?

Yes, you could use a duvet.

I kept mine in a toddler sleeping bag at this age, much easier. If you go for a duvet then a single duvet (rather than toddler bed sized one) put across-ways on the bed means that you can wrap the long side under the mattress to stop it being kicked off.

Vest, pjs, duvet (sideways as above) and another thin blanket on top at the moment.
