I'm baffled!!

My 9mo DS is perfectly capable of self settling.

I put him down awake for naps during the day and he goes off to sleep. He has just re-settled himself with no fuss after waking during his morning nap.

He sleeps fine 8-12/1 ish and re-settles himself if he wakes during this period.

Can someone please explain to me why he is then up every hour or so between 12 and 8 in the morning when I'm wanting to sleep?!?!?!?

Just wanted to have a bit of a rant, but any advice/suggestions would be gratefully received!

some random suggestions :

Is he cold? scratchy jammies? does he go to sleep in his cot during daytime naps too?

How long does he nap during the day - at 9 months he shouldn't be having any more than @3 hours if you want him to sleep well at night.

How long does it take you to settle him back during the night? Has he gotten into the habit of waking as he knows you will setle him back?

Thanks Foxymagoo.

He does go to sleep in his cot for daytime naps and he would maybe sleep for an hour in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon max, so never for longer than 3 hours.

He might be itchy, he does have some allergies.

What baffles me is how he can sleep 4-5 hours in a row in the earlier part of the night, but sleeps so badly after that.

It might possibly be habit as I do tend to feed him to sleep after midnight as I'm so desperate to get back to sleep!
