I’m not going through it (my baby is 11months now) I have been though and just wanted to send some solidarity because it’s utterly crap! Do whatever you need to do to get through it and hopefully it won’t last too long for you BrewCake

Oh god it’s awful isn’t it ! How long did it last for you ? Xx

About 14 weeks until just over 6 months when I did some sleep training. I couldn’t stand having 3hrs of broken sleep a night anymore (he would wake up at least 5 times a night, often more, his record was 12 Hmm) No idea how long it would have gone on for if I’d have left him to his own devices!
All babies are so different though, how long has it been going on for for you?
The only thing I would do differently is not worry so much about him not feeding in the morning and have a proper lie in when I could. OH would take him downstairs when he was off and I’d never sleep for long in case he needed a feed even though he usually fed ALL night so was absolutely fine for a while.
Coffee/tea, hot showers, good snacks and lots of fresh air even if I didn’t feel like it also powered me on through xx

Hey thanks for getting back to me .. well last night was diff was more back to her usual self only waking once at 3am for milk then back down . Her problem seems to start when I put her back down as she’s not fully sleepy so spends next few hours making lots of talking whingy noises not actually full blown crying so I left her abs she kept drifting back in abs out of sleep until 6.30 which is when we get up so maybe I just need to be less fussy? We are going through this too and Faye if DS just whimpered a bit for a few hours in his crib I’d be delighted! We have full blown I need to be put back to sleep now crying every hour or so (or half hour Sad)

@alwaysmarmiteontoast do you mind my asking how the sleep training went for you? Our situation sounds very similar to yours before six months and as DS is 5 months I’m looking to do some in a few weeks. But he’s soooo boob dependant and such a crap sleeper I’m worried it’s going to be horrific. We did some CC with our DD and it was fine, not that much crying- but she was in a much better place sleep-wise than DS is now...

Miriam , oh no this sounds awful ! Feel bad now for complaining! How long has your little one been like this for ? Was he sleeping better before etc ? X x

Thank you! But it’s ok- we’re all allowed to complain Wink

He was never great at sleep - although did once do a 7 hour stretch - but started waking loads at about 14 weeks and it’s got progressively worse in that now I struggle to settle him on the boob even. Takes ages to get him back to sleep and he just can’t seem to do it himself. He tries to get his fingers in his mouth but can’t seem to coordinate, bless him!

Anyway, I’m sure we’ll get there but the idea of spending many more months perma-attached to him all night is not very appealing. I remember complaining that my DD was waking three times a night at this age- little did I know how lucky I was!

Hope things continue to get better for you over the next few days/weeks!

Not at all! Overall it probably went better than I expected. I suppose I did a version of CC; I went in every 5mins to calm him down if he was crying until he fell asleep. I just wanted something that would work quickly because I was so knackered. Before that he’d feed back to sleep in the night or I’d rock him (but was usually so tired I’d end up feeding him in bed all night.) Bedtime was never much of an issue, it took about 25mins the first night for him to fall asleep with not much crying at all and since then he’s asleep within 5-10mins. The wake ups between 0400-0600 were harder and they took longer to stop but they did. Naps in his cot also took a little while to get sorted. He still wakes once for a feed which I’m okay with, usually around the same time. He does sometimes wake up at other times but will go back to sleep pretty quickly by himself unless something is actually bothering him like his teeth.

Oh sending so many hugs to every parent struggling with a sleep regression. I’m not sure I have any useful advice beyond the above except just keep repressing the mantra that nothing is permanent! You got this 💪🏼

Gigi1985 · 20/01/2021 12:59

*repeating that is!

Hello , I have a son, he is 3 months old. We had a problem, sleeping intermittently, constantly waking up every 30 minutes with tears.Sad
I began to think what to do, surfed the Internet, came across an account in Instagram Shema Baby Sleep Tracker and decided to try and download. Their consultant is very helpful and they have recommendations and tips in beautiful pictures and they are very clear. Recommended this App to all Flowers
