9 month old baby naps

My 9 months old DS will sometimes do a mega nap in the morning - like today, he napped from 9.30am to 12.30pm after waking around 6.30am. I’ve just put him down for another nap at 3.30pm, 3hrs after waking feels about right for him to be tired. He’s wailing in bed and didn’t seem tired when I put him down. I doubt he’d be able to stay awake until his bedtime at 7pm though and I don’t want a danger nap at 5pm either! Shall I leave him to it?

Can you help him to get to sleep?

I boobed him and put on his white noise, it usually works. He didn’t go off so he’s up having his tea now (with tired red eyes). He’ll just have to sit it out til bedtime now!

@OllietheOwl sounds like perhaps he just wasn't tired enough for his afternoon nap maybe. Have you tried capping the morning nap? My boy has just turned 10 months old and is forming a bit of a pattern of having one 1.5 hour nap in the morning and another 1.5ish hour nap in the afternoon. Today I had to go and wake him up for both of them! And his awake window is roughly around the 3 hour mark too during the day, slightly longer before bedtime.

My dd was down to one nap a day by about 6 months. Could you try pushing the morning nap later?
