Beal I hope everything is okay with you. Ginger, have fun at your mum's!

CM, you still up? DH is passed out on couch and unresponsive, and I am watching a really scary movie called Sunshine. Could use some company

Meg, where do you live?

Ginger, sorry DD is poorly, DS is also teething like mad. Will probably be going to bed any moment to comfort him. re: the new bed; me and DH recently did the same.

Leaving DH on couch.

bealcain · 05/11/2007 07:58

yea i think we're ok!! thanks for the concern everyone! we've come to the compromise that i'm allowed more children! yay

re: sleep stuff....we had the worst night ever last night. Jude woke up every hour from 10 til 6...nice!!! made esec. worse by the fat that he slept through for 2ngihts before! grrrrr

skirmish · 05/11/2007 08:01

1st here!

morning ladies

haven't been here for a while and it has taken me 2 days to catch up with everyone!

been all fine here. ds still sleeping til 7/8am, with no night wakings which is lovely - naps have gone a bit haywire but i'm just going with the flow and letting the routine go out the window . He's walking more and more too, so funny watching them toddle around

hi roro - i have one ds who will be 1 in a wk and a bit and am due second baby in 2 wks

skirmish · 05/11/2007 08:02

to slow typing and beal beat me to 1st post

RoRoMommy · 05/11/2007 08:20

Hello Skirmish! How exciting, just two weeks away! I can't imagine what it must be like to have the almost-one-year-old and be pregnant. I keep thinking, like I am tired now...just wait! But your nights sound lovely.

Beal, that's great news, more babies! Hooray. So glad you worked it out. But what a night, eh? What's got DS up so much?

My night was rubbish. DS in bed at 7:30pm, comfort at 10pm, feed at 11pm, I couldn't fall asleep until 1am, feed at 3am, then awake again at 4:30am. BUT, the good news, changed his nappy and put him back to bed with a little rocking and a feed! Hooray! Hopefully the first step to breaking the 4:30am waking cycle. Slept until 6:00am, then it was DH's turn with him, so I got another hour of sleep.

We had a lovely weekend, though...but now it's back to work. . Am going to miss DS as he's just now starting to get clingy for mommy and it's really sweet.

skirmish · 05/11/2007 08:26

it's very scary roro - i can't quite get my head around it still! ds is only just starting to go to other people, so that is a weight off my mind too. Our nights have only just started to get better (proving hope for all)as only a month or so ago i had a 5am riser! I loathe to leave this place though, i know i'll be back to sleepless nights in a few weeks!

ImBarryScott · 05/11/2007 08:51

Hi everyone!
No sleep here - DD's got the lurgy! I need Meg on this thread if you have a moment. I'd be interested to see what you decided.

gotta go - dd eating cat food!

MegBusset · 05/11/2007 09:31

Morning all, Baz that link doesn't seem to work for me?

Good night for us:
Bed 7.30
Woke 12 (fed and Medised as cough was bothering him)
Woke 5 (fed)
Woke 7.15 for the day

OP posts:
tibsy · 05/11/2007 09:33

morning all

hi ibs lovely to 'see' you but not, iyswim?

roro for your night lovely but for the lie in.

skirmish for yours. you deserve it and just in time too cant believe youve only got 2 weeks to go

beal glad df came to a decision that you wanted. for your regression tho sleepwise

our night ok, not a sleepthru tho
bed at 7.30pm
woke at 10.30pm back rubbing and handholding
bf at 3.50am
up at 7am for day
so on the whole very doable

EffiePerine · 05/11/2007 09:36

Morning! Sorry for your bad night RoRo but good news on getting your LO back to sleep . Hope your DS's cold gets better, Meg.

We had a dreadful night on Saturday - seemed like DS was awake and feeding all night though I'm sure I dozed off between times. Luckily DH got up with him on Sunday so I caught up on a little sleep in the morning. I hate those mornings when you've had so littel sleep you feel ill. But last night was much better: gave DS some nurofen at about 8 because his teeth were playing up (the second part of the molars is about to break through). Woke at 10 (when I went to bed) then awake at 2, 4 and 7. So there was a 4 hour stretch in there .

Ginger: the mattress idea sounds much better. I'm starting to hate the cot: completely useless and it wrecks my back lifting DS in and out. The downside to putting him to sleep in our bed is that he can now climb out: rather than crying when he wakes up he clambers out and toddles in to see us, doing his best abandoned child impression .

Beal: fantastic night! Glad you got an agreement with DF as well.

at your night Tibs. I think you may have cracked it!

Hi Skirmish! I hope you're getting as much rest as possible. Have you got your birht plan (ha!) and everything sorted? Or is it less of an issue with no. 2?

ImBarryScott · 05/11/2007 09:36

hey tibs
meg it was your thread about anti-biotics. we have similar issues.

but I wouldn't bother looking now - it's been hijacked a little .

tibsy · 05/11/2007 09:36

oh and forgot to say for ginger's poorly and teething dd. hope you have a great time with your mam i'm putting dd straight into a bed when she moves into her own room, so much easier i reckon

tibsy · 05/11/2007 09:39

EP for sat night. its bloody awful when you wake up feeling sick because youre so tired glad last night was better and for that all important 4 hour stretch. they really make the difference i reckon

MegBusset · 05/11/2007 09:40

Baz, I've posted on the other thread about the ABs. Basically we didn't have to use them as he woke up much better on Friday, otherwise we would have. I'd see what your GP recommends anyway.

OP posts:
Tamdin · 05/11/2007 09:40

morning all.

Ginger for dd. hope she's looking bit brighter this morning.

beal for your night. up very hour is tough.

Skirmish glad your nights are stillgoing well. don't leave if you don't want to. i'm not! plus you might need us in 2 weeks

roro for your night. it's so annoying wehn you can't back tosleep isn't it. I can't nap during the day anymore. ds went for 2 hour nap yesterday and i went to bed and lay with my eyes closed for 2 hours and still didn't go to sleep regretted not having the time to myself so don't think i'll bother trying anymore

BAZ. for dd's lurgy. are you having to stay off work? don't worry she'll go back to her sleeping glory when sh'e s better i'm sure.

good night here
bed at 8
asleep by 8.15
woke at 7.45 for day

tibsy · 05/11/2007 09:43

hi tam for your continued success me darlin whoo hoo!!!! i bet you feel like a new woman

RoRoMommy · 05/11/2007 09:44

Meg, so pleased to hear DS is feeling better. Is it strange that Medised makes my DS hyper, rather than sleepy?

Skirmish, how exciting...do you know DS OR DD? I am very interested to hear how it's different the second time around.

Tibs, for a v. decent night.

Effie, I do remember that feeling...sorry you had such a wakeful night, my DS is also teething like mad and seems like he's on the boob constantly. I am about to post a thread about a funny new position he's got himself in..."active" breastfeeding.

EffiePerine · 05/11/2007 09:45

oops missed your last update Bea: awake every hour os not good . Hope it's a very short blip!

Amber: meant to say that we tried DS on puffed spelt (I know, v poncy but we got some from Fresh & Wild) and he LOVES it. Worth a try for breakfast? I image puffed wheat (though not sugar puffs) would work as well but I have a feeling that splet is Good For You in some way.

Tamdin · 05/11/2007 09:45

damn my slow typing x posted with tibs ep and meg!

EP glad last night was better than saturday. Once his teeth are through he'll settle down i reckon. you've had a few 4 hour stretches recently which if he wasn't teething i think would be a nightly occurrence.

TIbs yay for dd's sleep through previously and for last night. do-able indeed.

Meg you're def getting into a good pattern aren't you. (if you take out illness)

MegBusset · 05/11/2007 09:45

Tibs for your night.

EP sorry you've been having some crap ones but a four-hour stretch is a Good Thing

Beal hooray for more babies . We're still not sure about going for no.2 although we've also vaguely considered the possibility of adoption somewhere down the line. One's more than enough for now, though!

RoRo I'm in Enfield -- the other end of the train line from Bethnal Green

MegBusset · 05/11/2007 09:47

Tam yay for yours too!

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 05/11/2007 09:47

RoRo: DS is your original active feeder - he wriggles and tries to stand on his head and crawls about - at least I'm not trying to feed him in public!

EffiePerine · 05/11/2007 09:47

oh and stats: 1 DS, 13 months, live in N London as well

EffiePerine · 05/11/2007 09:49

Hooray for your night Tam

RoRoMommy · 05/11/2007 09:58

Tam, for your night, it gives me hope. No use trying to nap for me anymore, but I do love just lying there next to DS and watching him sleep .

Effie, re active feeding, can see DS heading in that direction once he's mobile And he won't feed in public anymore at all! Talk about strategically timed outings...

We must definitely plan a London meet-up, would love to introduce DS to your lovely LOs!
