I think mine is stopping his daytime nap and I wondered if this was "normal"!?

He is 2.6

dd1 stopped at about 3 and a half,
but dd2 stopped about the same time as your ds UNlucky us!)

pulapula · 19/10/2007 20:18

DD rarely naps now (2.10) but luckily we can still put her in her room (in bed) for a couple of hours and she'll chat and sing and play with her soft toys.

Sometimes she'll surprise us tho and have a 3 hour sleep!

chankins · 19/10/2007 20:19

dd1 was about 22 months or so, and dd2 was probably 2 and a half i think. None of my dc like to nap much in day unfortunately !

This week DS is 2 and 3 months and is just starting to cut down on his day time naps. He slept for 2 out of 5 days so far this week instead of every day. DD was a little older when she stopped about 2.5 I think.

Hulababy · 19/10/2007 21:17

DD stopped having regular daytimes by the time she was 2yo. She would occasionally ave a nap - at nurseries for example occasionally, or if we were in the car - but not generally.

I missed day times naps!

Bellie · 19/10/2007 21:19

dd is almost 3 and still tends to have one - however if we are out and about she can miss it quiet easily - I think my days are numbered!

liath · 19/10/2007 21:20

Dd had stopped by 2 and will only nap if we take her out in the car which is a pain because some days she really does need to sleep. However she goes to bed nice and early so that's a bonus.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 19/10/2007 21:20

Just before 2.

redclover79 · 19/10/2007 21:34

ds1 was down to one afternoon nap by 1yo, and dropped that by 16 months , unfortunately I wasn't ready to give up my afternoon nap

annoyingdevil · 19/10/2007 22:13

DD is 2.7 and goes up to her room for a 'rest' every afternoon. I don't mind if she chooses to look at books, but mostly she'll have a sleep. The downside is that if she naps in the afternoon, she's awake until around 9pm!

Kaloo20 · 19/10/2007 22:20

DD and DS - the day the started school. Until then a 45min nap every day straight after lunch. They went to bed at 7.00pm still

ChipButty · 19/10/2007 22:23

DS was 2 and DD still going strong at 2.9! She can sleep 2 hours in the day and still have 12 hours at night(however, DS is up with the lark...)

maxbear · 20/10/2007 20:01

About 2 months after her brother was born although she would have probably stopped them earlier given half the chance. She was just over two at the time.

MadamePlatypus · 20/10/2007 20:14

Just before 3. He only napped at nursery or if we were in the car at lunchtime. It was a real relief when he dropped it as a nap meant he would stay up until about 10pm.

Anna8888 · 20/10/2007 20:15

My daughter will be three at the beginning of November and her daytime nap is on the way out - she naps about once a week.

stressteddy · 21/10/2007 11:58

Thank you all. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I will miss those naps though - like lots of you have said
Hope you are all having lovely weekends - with or without naps!!
