What age do they go from 2 naps to 1? ds - almost 8 mo has only had 1 nap today and has managed to stay happy from 12.30 till 6.30.
Is this a one off or at this age do they only need 1 nap??

My ds2 has also only had one nap today - he's 9mths. Often he naps on the go and they're rather short as he wakes easily anyway. Having said that he's been out for the count since 6.30!! Hopefully that'll be it until the morning.

well - thats what I'm hoping too.
I thought he'd have a nap on our car journey home today (1 hour journey) but he just chatted!

DD also went to just one nap/day when she was 8 months old. I was pretty horrified...My oldest didn't drop to just one nap/day until he was 2.5 yo. "They're all different".

That's funny, Aero. DS2 also crashes out at 6:30 pm, it's his own schedule, he put himself on it, and nothing I do seems to make him want to change. Bad side is, he's up & chirpy at 5:30 am (blech).

not until after his first birthday - probably about 14-15 months

DD is 11 mths and has dropped to 1 nap a day, that said today it was 2.5hrs!!!

I dropped dd's nap around 15 months and it took her a while to adjust. I cut the morning one and she naturally extended the afternoon one which I made much earlier.

TracyK · 22/10/2004 20:57

I wondre then if it was a 1 off today as he's still so little.

Could be Tracy. I think dd may have done that very occasionally. I wouldn't jump the gun if I were you!
