Is it normal to constantly check if my newborn is breathing every chance I get ... she's in her Moses basket in the living room with me now and I can't settle. Same on the night- she's such a good sleeper but I can't sleep because I'm constantly checking on her.
Any advice and when does the worrying ease?
xx

Yep I did this all the time! You do learn to relax more over time.

Totally normal!

Cheesewine · 14/11/2020 20:02

Yep. Normal. My dd is 6 months and I'm still always checking.

MrsMarrio · 14/11/2020 20:03

Agree, totally normal! DS is 20 weeks now and I still check

Ohalrightthen · 14/11/2020 20:05

Totally normal in the first few weeks.

BUT if you find it doesn't ease off, or you're unable to sleep, or finding yourself feeling panicky because of these worries, please speak to your HV or GP, as it could be PND or PNA and there is help there if you need it.

Thank you all.
Glad it's normal.
I love her so much and every night before bed time I get this bad anxiety and I can't sleep. HV comes Tuesday I'll speak to her then.
I want to really enjoy her this small and not let these worries overtake me x
