Is there a 6 month sleep regression?

Hey all

I think my baby skipped the 4 month one we had a couple of dodgy nights but nothing like now.

She's just turned 6 months and for the past week she goes down fine usually between 6.30-7 but then she's so restless by 11 sometimes awake for a couple of hours, not crying but fidgeting constantly, yawning, like she's struggling to get herself back to sleep. She self settles every bedtime and nap usually goes off with her dummy and muslin but can wake up without dummy and go back off. However she just seems so unsettled atm! I think this is also affecting her naps they seem to be hit and miss. I'm noticing she can go abit longer than 2 hours in between now but even that doesn't always work and today she fought it and was up 3 hours. Then only slept 40 minutes and was then full of beans again.

I don't understand! She was such a good sleeper and started getting really good at napping but I think the njght time interruptions are causing crappy naps now! Please tell me this is a phase!?

Thanks in advance

Found this @Emmaaa1990 - not common, but you may well be experiencing a 6 month regression. I think I've just come out of the 4 month regression so sending my sympathies; it's been rough! 😂
Good news is the 6 month one only lasts a couple of weeks (allegedly).

@SunshineYello Thankyou so much! She seems to have got better since we moved her in her own room! Horrible tho isn't it! Feel like it never ends don't you but hopefully we are both through theses ones at least!

Hi emma
I am having exactly the same problem my daughter was sleeping all night 7pm till 5/6am from 4 months apart from the ofd night we have hit 6 months and she wakes up chatting away sometimes she wants a bottle but not often its so frustrating as doesnt seem to be a reason! Shes in a next to me crib im wondering to move her to a cot like you said you tried how are you getting on now?

@Els1986 Hiya! Oh it's so frustrating isn't it! I would try moving her if you feel ready I think that helped my little one. She's still hit and miss but most days now we will have a morning nap and an afternoon nap usually wakes by 2-2.30 and goes to bed around 5.45-6 and she will then sleep through til 5.30-6am. We sometimes have a cry and we have to pop the dummy back in but other than that she's fine. For some reason she needs the dummy to initially settle but must lose it through the night and doesn't cry for it.

Yesterday she fought her afternoon nap though and I read there's an 8-10 month regression and she's almost 8 months now! Wondering if it was an off day or that! Let me know what happens and if you decide to move her! We do all sleep better since we moved her :)
