Baby scratched her eye!!

My 9 months old was rubbing her eyes and accidentally scratched the white part I guess. She cried for a minute and got tears from that. She was okay afterwards, but the area is a bit red. I can’t see any scratch or so. She seems to be happy. She keeps her eyes open. There is no swelling. Is that okay if I wait until morning for the surgery. I am a bit worried to go to A&E due to the current pandemic situation

I would wait until morning. Chances are she doesn't need to be seen at all. We've all scratched our eyes at some point, and unless it's serious it will heal very quickly on its own.

I wouldn't even think you needed A+E. My 4m old scratched his eye a while back, it was a fairly deep scratch as I could see it on his eye. Dr recommended A+E but only because the scratch was deep/visible. He said otherwise they just tend to clear up on their own. Give your GP a call in the morning if you're concerned.

Relieved to hear that. I always feel guilty when these kind of things happen to her. First time mom 🤦‍♀️
