Me too!

Are they going off all night, preventing you from sleeping?

Emmaaa1990 · 06/11/2020 20:42

Totally agree! Why can't there be silent fireworks?! So annoying. I don't like them as one landed in my hood and one shot at my feet when I was younger so I'm abit scared of them haha! But now I also have a 6 month old and the noise is so annoying! I don't get why they go on for weeks too! Bonfire night and NYE is plenty!

Sandrine1982 · 07/11/2020 21:36

Exactly!!! Just because some morons need 5 minutes of fun, there's a whole section of society that needs to suffer. I thought Thursday was the end of it but it's still going???? During lockdown? I'm thinking of escaping to a remote village for New Year. Is there anywhere where they wont reach??????????

They stopped me from sleeping last night. Dog was so frightened she wanted to sleep on our bed. She’s a greyhound so there really isn’t room.

I’m sure it’s worse this year because there aren’t any proper organised displays so everyone is doing their own but it’s all evening. I normally barley notice it but this year it seems constant.

Ignoringequally · 07/11/2020 21:46

I have three young DC and the fireworks have been really loud around here this year, but none of them have been at all bothered. I must have heavily sleeping children!

Bellesavage · 07/11/2020 21:47

I find the pops and bangs oddly comforting, a reminder we can still have fun even in 2020.

SoupDragon · 07/11/2020 21:50

During lockdown?

What does that have to do with anything?

It's no different to any other years so i can't work out why people are so surprised.

TweeBree · 07/11/2020 21:56

It's been going on for a week in our area. Every bloody night until past midnight.

m0therofdragons · 07/11/2020 21:59

I like the sound and can hardly hear them in the house. Dog isn’t bothered but goes nuts every time emergency services go by with sirens on. Can’t really ban those but I would be really sad if fireworks were banned - my strongest memories of extended family is all getting together at my grandparents’ home and walking to the display as a child.

Every year there are fireworks on the 5th plus the nearest Saturday either side and every year a small number of people take to Facebook and mn to moan. Wear ear plug for a week every November and understand that every year people have a much loved tradition that you don’t like.
