What time is bed time?

What time do you put your LO to bed, we are putting DS to bed at 7.30 and waking him at 10.20 for last feed, do you think if I moved bed time to later he would sleep longer?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

we always put ours down btw 6pm -7pm
tbh we never woke ours up for a feed
they just sleep through when they're ready and no amount of forcing the issue helped us I'm afraid
I know it's tough but it does get better

ds2 goes to bed about 7, will take himself off to bed if her is really tired before that.
ds1 goes to bed about 8.30 and is a sleep by 9, doesnt matter what time he goes to bed he still goes to sleep at 9 and is up by 7.30 in the morning so I dont worry too much about getting him to bed earlier

ds goes to bed between 7 and 8, i wake him between 10 and 11 for a feed, he wakes between 5 and 7.

one weekend i did his dream feed at 2 in the morning and he still woke at 5!

how old is he?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 15/10/2007 12:38

Ds is 2.5 and goes to bed around 7pm, sometimes earlier and he wakes around 6-7am.

When he was waking in the night it was usually once around 2am. I have never woken him for a feed, and tbh find it weird to wake a sleeping baby!

DS3 goes down at 8pm with the older DS's - he was going down around 9-10pm but I "worked" it backwards as I value my 1 1/2hrs "on my own" before DH gets home and when they're all in bed.

He used to wake up between 1-3am. But now tends to take around 3-4 (or occasionaly closer to 6!!).

I'm prepared to wait for him to sleep through properly when he's ready as I value my evening time too much

i agree with QofQ. i need him to be in bed by 8 even if it means feeding in the night time.

do you think it's better not to wake a baby for a dream feed then?

TheQueenOfQuotes · 15/10/2007 12:56

I don't dream feed - although I have done it once when he fell asleep just after 6pm and I managed to change him for bed without waking him (although I wasn't trying not to wake him lol) - I gave him his milk as usual just before 8pm - didn't seem to make any difference though LOL.

We don't go to bed until around 12ish - but those few hours are so precious - especially as I do the entire afternoon/evening routine on my own.

And I think it's easier for them to learn to sleep longer at night (given time obviously) - than it is to move a bedtime backwards.
