Just read your thread about being excellent sleeper and now suddenly whimpering then stopping then starting again! Although my ds is only 8 months old we have had exactly the same problem suddenly. He has gone from being an excellent sleeper day and night, to suddenly at 6 months waking up at least once a night crying and now at about 10.15pm every night he whimpers for hours and eventually we have to go in because it is driving us crazy - all doors shut etc but can still hear him very loudly. He stops and starts etc, and the only way we can stop it is to get him out of bed, turn the lights on and sit him up, calm him down and talk to him. Then eventually he will go back to sleep, but I can't for the life of me work out why it is happening or what I can do about it because I hate waking him up!! When he is actually crying crying then controlled crying is great, but it doesn't work for this at all!

Please can you tell me if you work anything out for yours and let me know so that I can try it too?

Thanks
