is it too early?

Just wondered if anyone thinks that 6.30 is too early for my dd to go to bed. She is 3 and doesn't have a nap in the day anymore and come 5.30 she can barely keep her eyes open to eat her tea...she is naggy, irritable and saying that she is 'too tired' to do anything, sitting there rubbing her eyes and crying. She normally goes to bed at 7 along with her brothers, but I am just wondering if she would be better going a little earlier. All the children get up around 6, and are all very bleary eyed and sit half asleep on the sofa for ages when they get up. TIA

My son goes to bed at 8- 8.30pm (just three) but then he also sleeps two hours in the afternoon. If she's tired she could go to bed earlier, but she might wake up earlier (eek!) or she might just get the sleep she needs. Why not try it?

sounds fine. ds1 is nearly three and is usually in bed by 7, and asleep straight away. He also says 'I'm a little bit tired' a lot in the afternoons, but I think thats mainly to get out of doing anything - yesterday he couldn't feed the fish cos he was 'a little bit tired'
Sorry - getting back to the point - try the 6.30 and see how it goes. Instead of a nap does she have 'quiet time' after lunch?

my dd1 (4) goes to bed at 7.30 although she often gets up for loo visits, being nosey etc so doesn't actually sleep then. my 2 (dd2 is 18 mths)have a snack when home from nursery, then around 6 slob in front of cbeebies for half an hour till bath, then 7 stories and milk, then bedtime.

Both of mine are in bed at 6.30 dd is 5 and has just started school, she has 3 stories and tehn off to sleep for 7. Ds is 11m and desperate for his bed by then so no I don't think it's too early.
