10 month sleep regression!

It’s hell. My baby was sleeping through the night pretty much from 10 weeks old. She’d have her odd night when she teeth’s but now... she wakes up every 1-2 hours and then there is a stage in the night she will not settle at all and is awake around 2-3 hours.

I am on my knees. It’s starting to affect my health now. For the first time in my life I’ve had vertigo and vision migraines.

She’s been like this for 7 weeks now. How long does it last?!!!

I'm in the same boat and I'm actually in tears replying as my 10 month old has clung and whinged at me all day. I can't put her down in cot at all in day at the moment, meaning I have absolutely no break as I had to walk/drive for both naps today and she's beyond tired now but I can't put her down, she seems to settle and then screams!

I also have a 4 year old to look after and my husband is away working for a week so I'm at the end of my tether today!

It is absolute torture. I completely sympathise. Mine doesn’t sleep in the day if you put her down in her cot and hasn’t done since she was about 4 weeks old. I tried and I tried and tried but she had none of it. So now I have a baby that doesn’t sleep in the night and I can’t catch up on my sleep in the day

Rather late to the party here but OH.MY.GOD.

My little boy turned 10 months on the 1st November. The day he turned 10 months he started crawling. Since then, naps and bedtime have been HORRENDOUS.

Previously to this, he was napping happily in his cot x2 a day and having around 2.5/3 hours total nap time, and going to bed was easy as pie. He would drink his bedtime milk, we’d have a quick cuddle, he’d go down in his cot and I’d say goodnight, leave the room and within 15 minutes he’d be asleep after babbling to his bunny for a bit. He was sleeping through the night (occasional early waking but usually awake at 6/6;30am)....

Now I can’t put him down in his cot without a meltdown. If he goes down in his cot without a fuss, it takes him 0.00002 seconds to roll over onto his tummy, attempt to crawl, or sitting up in his cot then crying because he’s sat up and wants to lie down and go to sleep... I’m pulling my hair out! If I go back in to lie him back down he is hysterical. He doesn’t want me to touch him, but when I leave he is also screaming. I end up rocking him to calm him and he will then suddenly drift into a light slumber when I then put him down and he just goes to sleep like nothings happened... just to add, I’ve never ever rocked him to sleep before!

I just don’t know what to do. Not sure when it will end. Hopefully soon... I go back to work in 4 weeks and can’t stand the thought of work whilst bedtime is so stressful.

LUCKILY touch wood he is still having a relatively settled night, apart from waking at 4/5am.... he will settle back down after a bottle though and usually then sleeps too 6:30/7.

Totally wish I had a magic solution. But just here to leave my mark in hope someone else has any advice for us. FlowersBrew

I really do feel for you. It is an absolute nightmare. I dreaded every night time. Luckily, her 10 month sleep regression finally ended around 8-9 weeks of it starting and she’s back to sleeping. I literally tried EVERYTHING with her and nothing work. I’m sorry I am of no help. I hope someone will be able to give you some good advice.

None of my babies slept before the age of 2. Waking every 1-2 hours a night for 2 years! It does get better, don’t despair. This too shall pass.
No point trying to fix it.. they just fix it themselves eventually

I feel ya OP! I have started sleeping with him of a night, in my bed, and it has made it easier. I've had 2 others and I did same with them around this time for a couple months. Helps settle them. Hubby goes on settee...but we all sleep and don't kill each other, right? Smile

Say it loud OP 'This too shall pass'. A wonderful biblical passage that is 100% true. Stay strong, don't lose your shit, take a walk in the garden if you need to, drink a glass of wine...THIS TOO SHALL PASS xx
