Can anyone tell me when you gave your child his first real pillow to sleep on. My ds (22mos) sleeps so well on one when he is in my bed. The other night though I gave him one for the first time in his crib (has slept well so far without one) and when he woke up in the middle of the night he was totally at the other end of the bed without the pillow. I dont know if he just didnt like it or what.

Ds had his (and I personally sleep without one myself) at around 24 mo.

Pupuce, How in the world do you do that? In our bed we have a total of 6 pillows. I know that sounds crazy, we have them spread all over the place. Probally would be a lot more room though if I got rid of at least 1/2 of them.

I didn't actually give mine pillows until they were in a 'big bed'. I used to sleep with 2 pillows but found I was geting frequent sore necks. I now sleep with one and the sore necks have gone.

Same with us Mears, our ds got a pillow when he went into a big bed too.

My ds has had a small down travel pillow since about 9 mo. However it is only recently (he is now 22 mo.) that he has actually stayed with his head on it for more than a short time. He likes to have the pillow there when he is falling asleep...it's nice and cuddly. I found, like you, that he slept well in our bed with the pillows and down comforter. So I decided to give him the same in his bed. My friend uses an adult size pillow for her son, but he is in an american size crib which is bigger than a uk one.
By the way, as you are in the usa, PotteryBarn Kids (they have a website) does really great bed stuff for cribs (pillows, comforters, sheets etc.).

Thanks SofiaAmes I'll have to take a look at the site.
