First proper nightmare :(

DD (2.5yo) has just had her first proper nightmare, bless her. She is a little off colour, but with nothing really wrong IYKWIM. She went to bed as normal, but woke after about 2.5 hours crying and sibbing. Went in to her, but she wasn't really awake. Her eyes were flickering open but she wasn't focusing at all, and she wasn't really aware of me. She did let me hold her a bit but not cuddle her. She was just sobbing with tears rolling down her face Took a good 10 minutes or so for her to actually wake up enough to see me and DH and to want a little drink of water and a cuddle. She didn't know why she was upset though.

She's now cuddled on daddy's knee on the safe, now fast asleep again.

It was horrible not being able to comfort her but I guess she is at the right age for nightmares now.

Is this the age for nightmares then ? I can't remember, but DS2 (2.3) is now waking up saying he's scared. We have now added a tiny socket night light to his room, as I think he was actually scared of the complete darkness suddenly... awful isn't it...

Mmm, no idea what caused it and she couldn't tell me. Not the dark, as her door is always left open with hall light on. Unless it's related to her being off colour a bit.
