Going into own room

Is 4 month too early for my girl to be going into her own room? At the moment we have a travel cot in our bedroom as she has a cot bed and it's way too big to go in our room so we bought the travel cot. We bought an actual mattress to go in the cot though as obviously the one it comes with is very thin and not ideal for long term use. But I just still don't feel like it's ideal for long term use even though we have got a proper mattress in there for her? Or am I worrying too much. They say the earliest is 6 month to go in own room but Ive heard plenty of people saying they have gone in earlier than that?

Yes is too early. 6 months is the suggested minimum to reduce the risk of your baby dying from SIDS.

Go for it - ours were from younger than that with baby monitor- next room - doors ajar - you don’t hear every snuffle or grunt but you hear everything else - monitor or not. Tbh we didn’t need monitor in next room but made me feel better
