Tips for getting 4 month old to begin to self settle

My little girl is 4 months old and exclusively breast fed. She sleep quite well (I only have my toddler to compare her too who was an awful sleeper!) but shows no signs of being able to settle herself back to sleep. She always falls asleep at night feeding and I then put her dummy in and get her down. Day time is similar. If I just feed her and put her down awake with dummy she just spits it out and shouts at me until I pick her up and she goes back off to sleep again. I don't mind at night time too much, but day times are so hard! She only has 20-30 mins cat naps and spends most of the day crying. If she could go down independently then hopefully she could get herself back to sleep during naps? I know she's still very young, so maybe too early to do much but any advice would be great? Can't spend my life with the two of them constantly battling with her to sleep!
