Night Weaning

I'm trying to night wean my 20m old in the hopes that she will start sleeping through in her own bed, and it's absolutely killing me, hoping for some tips or support from others who have done it.

Unlike my older daughter who started sleeping through at around 10m, this little one is boob obsessed and wants to feed all night. She usually feeds to sleep, sleeps maybe 2-3 hrs in her cot then cosleeps from her first wakeup and feeds a few more times from then until morning. Hasn't been an issue so far but I'm 7 months pregnant and can't have her cosleeping when there's a newborn in the mix, or be trying to feed them both throughout the night. So I've started tonight by giving her her bedtime feed then saying goodnight to the boobies and telling her no more until morning. She is not happy. She's screamed the house down, hit me, scratched my face, arched her back and screeched like a demon. Its mostly temper although I'm sure she's upset as well as its a big change. She is currently lying on my chest saying NONONONONO and telling me off, and has been for the last 30 mins. Shes definitely not hungry - she had a roast dinner earlier and I've offered her snacks and water. She's usually asleep by 7pm at the latest.

Any tips? Anything I can do differently (other than giving in)? I cant leave her to cry, its hard enough hearing it with me holding her

Can your partner deal with her at bedtime? At least for the short term (a week or two) it is much better to get a someone else to take over when you want to night wean.

Thanks for reply. He works away through the week so he's no use. She was miles better tonight, took an hour of lying next to her singing but no tears. Progress at least!
