DS had previously slept well 7.30pm through until 5/6am for a feed then back down for an hour or two. We had a bit of sleep regression at 4 months which just meant he woke at 3am and up at 6am instead ...then he went back to normal again.
But the last two weeks he just seems so uncomfortable. When going to sleep in the evening for the night he squirms and grabs at his face. In the night he sleeps on his tummy but keeps trying to stick his bum up and roll him self on to his side and wakes up several times a night. I roll him back over and tuck him in, he settles for 30 seconds then starts thrashing around again. Is this linked to him rolling both ways and trying to crawl? Do I need to swaddle him or create a nest under his sheet to try keep him still? He is so tired but just can’t seem to stay still to sleep deeply.

This is a really difficult stage when baby learns to roll and is working on crawlling. I found a tightly tucked in sheet helps to keep baby a bit more still.

Sleep positioners and swaddling is considered unsafe at this stage.

I tried to tuck him in but he is so strong, one push up and he untucks the whole thing. He woke up 5 times between 12 and 0130 this morning, then again at 4.30 for a feed, stayed awake whinging with his eyes shut for over an hour then woke up at 0630. He has then spent the entire day whinging 😩. How can I go from having the most chilled happy sleeping baby to this little ball of stress ?!?!
