7 month old trying to crawl in his sleep!

Has anyone else had this?! DC2 keeps waking himself trying to crawl in his sleep. He’s not a great sleeper at the best of times - we mostly have to co-sleep- but add in the heat, weaning/solids and now this, and I think he might actually break me.

The last few nights, he has actually woken me up at 0400 to practise sitting and trying to crawl, and takes the thick end of an hour to get back down.

Any suggestions or ideas of how long this phase might last?!

I think your baby is just trying to generate a stealth Boasts by proxy.

Crawling and sitting? I can LITERALLY doing it in my sleep.

Meanwhile my babies are sitting in the shame corner.

As for advice, ice cold coffee. make coffee with a tiny bit of hot too dissolve it, as I've cubes and milk and refrigerate.

*lying on the shame corner. If they could sit, they wouldn't be shamed

Mine did this. A lot. It lasted about 2 months.
She’s now moved on to standing.

My DD still crawls in her sleep and she is nearly 2. Luckily most of the time she stays asleep.

Oh and if adults have difficulty sleeping in the heat, why do you think babies and children would be any different?

MyCatReallyIsAGit · 12/08/2020 16:40

Oh, I totally expected a bad week due to the heat! It’s just the trying to crawl in his sleep which I don’t remember from DC1. Maybe I blocked it out. He spends most of his day trying to crawl or pull himself up and roaring in frustration....

@SleepingStandingUp, that’s a good idea!

@Megan2018, two months, you say? (Takes self off to corner to rock and weep quietly)

Mine did this for a couple of months too. Then did the same when she was learning to walk.
