Persist with snuzpod or try cot?

Hi all. I posted recently about struggling with getting my just turned 4month old to be happy in snuzpod which is attached to bed. He sleeps well when co-sleeping and I understand the benefits but for various reasons I want him in his own sleep space.

If I want him to be in cot in own room in roughly two months time do you think it is worth persisting with getting him used to snuzpod as a good first step then work on big cot in room and then big cot in own room or just skip to big cot to save to many different places? Thanks.

Does he nap in the cot? We did snuzpod for about 7 months and did naps in the cot eventually he just wanted to be in his cot at night and wasn't interested in co sleeping.

He has never been in the big cot. Used to sleep happily in snuzpod for nights. Naps on me or in car or pram but would like to be able to put him in his own sleep space for at least one nap ideally
