Shingles, toddlers & sleep (or lack of!)

DD1 is 2.5 and historically been a great sleeper - I've been lucky, I know!
She developed shingles 4 weeks ago and the doctor prescribed an anti-viral drug to stop it spreading. Since then she has woken consistently between 3am-4.30am and has refused her day-time naps when at home with me. She is still managing to have a 1 hr nap when at the childminders.
I feel we have tried everything to get her to go back to sleep but she refuses and screams & screams...and then wakes our 10mth old up, who has just started sleeping through. DD2 is then sleeping the whole morning in order to catch up on her sleep.
It's everything from "I'm hungry" - jam sandwich given upstairs but doesn't necessarily eat it - "I want Mummy & Daddy's bed" but then won't sleep and keeps us awake to "I want potty" and doesn't go.....
It's become a horrible vicious circle for her and she's absolutely shattered......and as quickly as bad habits form, they suddenly become the "norm".
Can anybody suggest anything? She becomes absolutely distraught if you leave her, so that isn't the answer. I've pointed our that it's dark outside and that everyone is asleep but that doesn't work.......
