Hi twice in the last week I've been asleep had a lovely dream then as I'm about to wake up I can't open my eyes and then feel like I'm dying, this one I felt my daughter in the room she tried shaking me to wake me up then ran downstairs to get her dad to help me (this didn't happen I just imagined it) I start pancaking I feel like I'm dying I can't move but it feels like my eyes are rolling I thought I was going to swallow my tongue my breathing gets terrible as I'm pancaking soo much. eventually I wake up but this time it's scared me soo much I started crying afterwards. what's happening to me?

Google sleep paralysis, I’ve had this before when I’m overtired / sleep deprived usually. It’s where your mind wakes up but your body is still in sleep mode so you can’t move. You can also hallucinate in this state as still half dreaming. Maybe check in with a doctor to make sure not a seizure or anything but I think that’s what it sounds like
..it’s harmless but awful!

@Kty8901 Thankyou when I googled it after it happened that is what came up but thought I'd check. I think it's Definitely that, never been so scared 🙈 it's only been when I've had a nap through the day aswell. 15 month old still waking loads through the night so I'm really tired all the time I think that explains it. Thankyou :)

Sleep paralysis. I get it when stressed and tired, it’s horrible.

One tip is to try and relax in to the dream, if you can. I can now turn them in to lucid dreams and control them if that makes sense, so it actually becomes quite enjoyable if you can manage not to fight it

Sleep paralysis -it’s awful. I get it when overtired -it fills like the experience goes on forever. I try and force wriggling my toes to wake myself up.

@ShirleyPhallus Thankyou I will try and do that if it happens again, I'm hoping it doesn't as I've never been so scared lol.

@mouse1234567 Thankyou, I'll give that a try do you find it works? Yes definatley it seemed like it lasted ages the longer it was going on for the more scared I was getting
